Each season we catch up with our Founder, Georgia, on the new collection; from colour curation to her favourite pieces, and what’s coming up this year at Dora Larsen…
SS21 is live! How does it feel to show everyone the new collection at last?
“It definitely feels like a long time coming! We work over a year in advance for all our collections, so once the range launches, it’s amazing to finally be able to get a reaction from our friends and customers. This season, for me, was all about positivity and new beginnings, I think that’s why I went with such bright colours, but also colour combinations that are very different to what we’ve done previously. “
Which pieces are you most excited about for this season?
“I was excited to launch the Ebba range for a few reasons, firstly, I was looking forward to showing another of our new bespoke designed laces, made using recycled materials. Secondly, I’m a padded triangle addict, so was thrilled to have another colourway I could add to my ever growing collection! I also named Ebba after my sister’s new baby, so there’s also a bit of a personal connection there, too.”
What are your favourite colourways from the collection?
“I hadn’t originally planned to include the Abbie colourway for this season, she was added in at the very end. But, she’s ended up being my favourite from a colour perspective. The colours in Abbie are so positive and happy, and I love wearing lemon yellow with a tan, so looking forward to making her a staple this summer.”
What’s coming up this year for Dora Larsen?
“I am beyond thrilled to announce that we are launching a nightwear range this Spring. We’ve experimented with a couple of cami and short sets previously, but never a full collection as we’ve planned this season. We’ve also put sustainability at the forefront of our design decisions, so the collection is made from a gorgeously soft linen and organic cotton fabric.”
